Who This Is For
BUILD Military Athlete is designed for serving military personnel preparing for UK Armed Forces Olympic weightlifting competitions, including Development, Single Service, Inter-Service and UKAF level events.
This programme is for athletes who want to compete or compete better, while balancing training alongside military commitments.
You receive structured, competition-focused coaching built for serious progress, delivering elite level development within a sustainable training framework.

Competition-Focused Programme Structure
Athletes follow a shared, 4 session per week (60-75mins), competition-led programme structure, guided by:
Appropriate loading, volume, and intensity
The specific demands of the upcoming competition
Planned progression across training phases leading into competition
This ensures training is consistent, well-managed and directly applicable to performance on the platform.
Individualised Technical Coaching
Within this shared structure, each athlete receives individual technical prescriptions, based on ongoing review of submitted training videos.
This includes:
Individual technical improvement exercises
Specific movement priorities and cues
Adjustments to accessories and emphasis based on the athlete’s needs
This approach allows technical development to be specific to the individual, while maintaining a programme structure that supports optimal competition preparation.
Also included is ‘Regeneration Day’ Guidance for maximal adaptations and reduce physical and psychological fatigue.
Weekly Coaching Feedback
Ongoing coaching support delivered via voice note, text or video, including:
Technical review of submitted lifts
Clear direction on what to prioritise in training
Guidance on how to correct faults and improve consistency
You always know what matters most right now and how to apply it in training.
Competition-Specific Preparation (4 Week Comp Prep)
Athletes are progressively exposed to:
Competition-style training sessions
Attempt selection principles
Introductory peaking and tapering strategies
Training is designed so that competition day feels familiar, controlled and repeatable, not rushed or uncertain.
A confident lifter is a successful lifter.

Exclusive military weightlifting group chat, including:
Group coaching feedback
Shared learning from other service athletes
Nutrition, mindset & regeneration tips

You’re part of a performance-driven military lifting community, not training in isolation.
Set -Up Call
Each athlete completes an initial set-up call to establish:
Training history, competition experience and current performance levels
Upcoming competition timeline and key performance targets
Availability, recovery considerations and external demands
Minimum 8-Week Commitment
Real progress doesn’t happen in four weeks.
A minimum eight-week block creates the time needed for meaningful technical adaptation, deliberate progression and durable performance improvements that hold under military demands and translate to the competition platform.
